The William Davidson Institute at the University of Michigan (WDI)
Founded in 1992, WDI is a non-profit research and educational organization that supports economic development in emerging markets. WDI designs and delivers management education and entrepreneurship programs, integrating global best practices within local contexts. WDI’s programs serve university students, entrepreneurs, leaders of non-governmental organizations, and executives from around the World.
Egypt – American University in Cairo (AUC)
Established in 1919, AUC is the region’s leading US-accredited liberal arts institution, offering 39 undergraduate majors and serving about 6,000 undergraduates. AUC is also the largest USAID implementer in the higher education field across Egypt and has partnered with WDI on previous Stevens Initiative-supported virtual exchanges. AUC will serve as WDI’s lead partner in the North Africa region given the university’s significant capacity for program support and experience with virtual education. WDI will work closely with AUC to ensure the program runs smoothly across the region.
Libya – Benghazi Youth for Technology & Entrepreneurship (BYTE)
Founded in 2016, BYTE focuses on socioeconomic development through the use of technical and entrepreneurship development. WDI partnered with BYTE on two previous Stevens Initiative-supported virtual exchanges.
Morocco – École Supérieure de Commerce et des Affaires (ESCA) Ecole de Management
Established in 1992 in Casablanca, ESCA is the first business school to be accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business in Morocco and French-speaking Africa. WDI partnered with ESCA to develop a case writing workshop for faculty members across Africa which is planned to be offered in the coming year.
The University of Michigan – Ann Arbor
Established in 1817, the University of Michigan is a leading public research institution located in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Known for its academic excellence, it offers a wide range of undergraduate, graduate, and professional programs across various disciplines, including engineering, business, medicine, and the arts. The university is renowned for its research initiatives, global partnerships, and vibrant campus life.
The University of Michigan – Dearborn
Founded in 1959, the University of Michigan-Dearborn is a top regional public university, offering a high-quality education with a focus on practical learning and community engagement. It serves over 8,000 students, offering a wide range of undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral programs. Located near Detroit, the university emphasizes leadership, innovation, and collaboration.
Michigan – Wayne State University (WSU)
Founded in 1868, WSU is Michigan’s third-largest university, serving nearly 24,000 students, with over 16,000 being undergraduate students, and consisting of 13 schools and colleges offering around 350 programs.
Michigan – Eastern Michigan University (EMU)
Founded in 1849, EMU is the second oldest public university in Michigan. EMU serves nearly 14,000 students, with 11,000 of those being undergraduate students, and offers nearly 200 undergraduate majors.
Michigan – Michigan State University (MSU)
Founded in 1855, MSU is a public land-grant research university in Michigan. MSU serves over 51,000 students, with over 40,000 of those being undergraduate students, and offers 400 academic programs.
